New Year Blast

070101: Why do the Chinese miss setting off long, red-hot firecrackers during the first day of Chinese New Year celebration? It is wished that it would blast the new year off with high spirit and prosperity. A huge group of our friends thought so too. But instead of firecrackers, we had a hot cracking time in a rented suite at the Royal Bintang Curve. It was actually initiated by my buddy Emi (a.k.a. Maguro). She booked the place couple of months ahead at a reasonable rate and I was roped in as her partner-in-crime. Then there were all the preparation of sending out invites (putting a gun on their heads to join), ensuring throngs of pretties and hunkies, planning a fool-proof program, stocking up on drinks, and wiring up the suite with a laptop plus bass booster (it was such a cost-saving yet effective idea!).

Result:
If the drinks didn’t give me ‘double-vision’, I remember there were approximately 40pax in that hardly 500sq ft room. We switched between dancing action downstairs at Sanctuary and our suite upstairs.

A few eye-openers:
- some danced like there was no tomorrow even though normally they don’t
- some ‘risked’ their lives and joined us despite ‘commitment’ (haha, we salute to that)
- some were awake until dawn, physically dead but soul was still wandering
- some sent us appreciation email, thanking us for the ‘sexciting’ experience

We also thought viewing the 10mins BandarUtama fireworks from our balcony was great. There were so many exciting photos taken in the midst of actions that didn’t pass our Censor Board, hence we’d do with what’s decent.

Now this is what we call a blast despite the ban of home fireworks.
